Dassie’s Tale, is an isiXhosa folktale suitable, is set in ancient times when the earth was created. All the animals embarked on the journey to share their talents. However, Dassie was too lazy to make the effort and learnt an important lesson about working hard and being honest. The performance involves beautiful songs, expressive dance, isiXhosa and English language.
“Stunning voices and harmonies.”
”Adequately silly and engaging for children of the target age group – and everyone!”

We feel that the children sat a bit to long waiting for them to go and be seated inside. We also thought that the play was a bit advance for our group of learner as they are only 5-6 years old. However they enjoyed the comedy part of the show... The actors made it fun and interesting for the kids even the teacher enjoyed it as well... #thumbsup
Great to include African words. Perhaps good to get children (and adults!) to repeat them. Lovely to see African tales. Promote via tourism - many international guests are looking for things to do with their children. These African tales would interest them.
Fortune said that his son of 3 enjoyed it tremendously. Bright didn't want to go back to the car when they had to leave but wanted to go back inside for more. Fortune and Tamara also enjoyed it a lot. Fortune especially appreciated the moral of the story.
