Playing everything from Lady Macbeth to a “pop-up” toaster, Lizz has done it all. Almost 2000 productions later, she is still utterly in love with her industry, and the Arts profession in all its facets. 
In “Tour de Forces/Forced to Tour” - Lizz relates anecdotes about her 50 years as a showbiz professional. A host of colourful characters form part of this witty, clever and entertaining production. 

“Tour de Forces/Forced to Tour” is not strictly and autobiographical show. The content and themes are universal, reflecting the wonder, the chaos, the brittle beauty of the human spirit in all its facets.

I usually like Lizz Meiring and have enjoyed seeing her in past productions I however found her solo performance discombobulated. There were no clever and witty characters as per the write ups. The anecdotes that she read would have been funny, if we have not read it numerous times on social media before - the double church doors for the Weight Watchers etc has been published just about everywhere and I doubt if there were people in the audience that have not heard it before. My partner and I agreed that it was not entertaining at all. Another problem with her show was that Ms Meiring is very funny in Afrikaans, but this show does not translate well in English. I could hear from the lack of clapping and laughter that most of the audience felt the same way. My partner remarked that it would have been a good introductory speech for a new drama class. It indeed felt as if she was forced to tour and not because she wanted to present an original new show.

It was my first visit to Drama Factory and I will definitely be back regularly! Lizz Meiring is a hugely talented, hardworking, dedicated, and formidable artist. This performance was masterfully put together and executed and it gave the audience a glimpse of her experiences and training during a career of now 50 years. She edified so many artists and coaches, past and present, which showed her love and respect for her profession. Whether it be preparing for an acting role or as speaker at corporate or social events, her preparation is equally assiduous. She performs eloquently in both English or Afrikaans. Lizz's performance evoked both tears and roars of laughter. An afternoon of the highest quality entertainment. Thank you!
