Back by popular demand - Tanja Storm pays tribute to Eva Cassidy.
Eva Marie Cassidy was an American singer known for her interpretations of Jazz and Blues. She
was practically unknown outside her hometown, until her posthumous recognition...
Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Fields of Gold and Songbird were but a few of the songs she
delivered so beautifully, until her passing in 1996.
Tanja Storm is a multi-talented and skilled vocalist, instrumentalist and musical director. She
released her debut album in 2009, with her first music video, “Tevergeefs”, being broadcast on
KykNet. Recently returning to a recording studio after years of successful projects with various
cover bands and theatre work, numerous of her latest singles have hit number 1 on our local SA
music charts. Her much anticipated second music video, Môreson”, was also broadcast on
KykNet and her new album, titled "Ek is Oppad" was released in July 2019. She has shared
stages with some of SA's top artists and now she pays tribute to Eva Cassidy.
The Eva Cassidy Story is a heart-tugging tribute and live concert experience that journeys
through Eva's incredible catalogue of work. This show features all of Eva's greatest hits
performed by the diverse Tanja Storm and fellow musicians, Charlie Winter & MoT.
Sit back and allow yourself to be transported back in time on this nostalgic journey.
Reviews:
"A very special, multi-faceted and talented young lady who is driven by a love for what she does
-and it shows. She also has a magnificent voice and knows how to use it whether rocking flat out
or crooning a gentle balled. Miss her and miss out!"
"Well presented and put together. Trio worked well together with humour coming through. Eva
Cassidy is very hard to emulate as she had such a unique range and style."
"It was the first time that I listened to Tanja Storm - and what a pleasure it was, especially her
renditions of Eva Cassidy's wonderful type of singing. Also, her simultaneous accompaniment on
the piano was top-class. I also am a pianist of sorts and can assure you that she could have
embarked on a career relying solely on her pianist skill - and to accompany your own singing is
no mean achievement."
It was a truly memorable show and I enjoyed to hear the Eva Cassidy songs and story again! Tanja Storm & her "helpers" were really great. The one speaker on the right of the patrons were crackling and quite irritating. We also struggled to find your new door ... sat parked outside your old unit for 15 min until someone else came to tell us that you have moved. You need to put a sign up on your old location, please
Excellent show by very talented people! (I had fun putting together a 40min video - for my own use only - of the show. If the artist is infested in getting a copy for themselves feel free to contact me)
Brilliant, venue and show.
Wonderful singer and musician. Would definitely book to hear this again.

Why no sixth star/ An absolutely amazing and hearbreaking story. Tanja was superb why didn't she have any of her CDs available. Please bring her and her team back for another show
The whole experience was great. All of the previous problems seam to have been sorted. The show itself was informative and entertaining and very, very good .A winner !!
didnt think she had a particularly great voice and the sound was a bit "Thin"- maybe it would have been a bit better if I had sat in the middle. Just my opinion
Fabulous and just the right time lenth. New theatre great.
Personally I didn't think her voice suited Blues/Jazz style music. There was not enough depth and "soul" - however, i did enjoy her last 2 songs which clearly are more her style, she was much more animated and enjoying the songs.

Only one word for it - Beautiful :)
Tanya could have performed as a soloist without guitar support. She has a beautifully controlled vocal range.
As title suggested "story" -we expected more facts/stories about her life - and less music But show was great and we really enjoy singing and guitar music!
A brilliant evening

Her singing was great; for me she ranks as one of the very best South African artists. Her two guitarists were also excellent and provided suitable accompaniment. Finally, compliments to the owner/organiser of the Drama Factory for providing a great venue and for bringing excellent entertainment to Somerset West.
Stunning. Tanja's voice was perfect for the tribute, and her backing musicians complimented her perfectly. The atmosphere and ambience of the venue was superb and we will definitely be back in the future. Thank you.
Wonderful show.
