Bonny at Morn is a Cape Town trio consisting of Guitar, Violin, and Bass, plus vocals and harmonies. Inspired by British traditional music, the name comes from an old Northern English ballad. Bonny at Morn play a wide selection of jigs, reels, lullabies, ballads and originals, with some Pentangle classics, jazz, blues and a smidgen of humour flung in.
For St.Patrick’s Day, Bonny at Morn will be presenting a selection of tunes and songs from Ireland, from various periods of time. There is a great variety from jigs to reels to protest songs to music hall standards. There are also many performance styles such as solo vocals and instrumentals, duets and rollicking ensemble pieces including lush 4-part harmonies. There is a golden opportunity for audience participation in the choruses. Your entertainers for the evening are Brian Easton(Guitar and vocals), Buhle Easton(vocals and percussion), River Weatherstone (violin, viola and vocals) and Ted Faulkner(upright bass and vocals). In the words of famous Irishman John Lennon, “A splendid time is guaranteed for all!”
