After a smash hit run earlier this year we are thrilled to welcome back A Tribute to Edith Piaf. TF Productions presents a moving tribute to the legendary singer Edith Piaf. The show with the original line-up of Franky Lekas and Thinus Ries was presented in the Crassula Hall, Betty’s Bay during March 2022.
In a letter to the editor of the Overstrand Herald (Kleinmond) and The Village News (Hermanus) it was described as magnificent, stunning, mesmerising and thrilling, and that Franky’s powerful voice and Thinus’ accompaniment were world class.
This production of Piaf has also been presented at The Kleinmond Town Hall, Drama Factory in Somerset West with much success and warm and uplifting compliments received from those who attended the show. Dirja, will join her mother Franky in the vulnerable and touching renditions of Piaf’s most known songs. She delivers a unique rendition of ‘Allentown Jail’ and I Shouldn’nt Care’. Adding to the accompaniment the talented Gene Van Niekerk makes this show to be truly different and captivating.
Franky will perform Edith Piaf’s most famous songs like ‘No Regrets’, ‘La Vie En Rose’, ‘Milord’, ‘Under Paris Skies’, ‘Chante Moi’, ‘Autumn Leaves’ and ‘If You Love Me’ and ‘Heaven have Mercy’. The songs will be sung in English as what Edith performed in America.
It was excellent! Frankie did so well to portray Edith, an artist larger than life with a voice to match.
Excellent performance, truly passionate like the lady herself! A few recommendations possible on the show's visual aspect and the comments in-between, but the singing and accompaniment brilliant, well done.
It was an exceptional show.

Amazing a truly heartfelt performance from Frankie and Didi!!
Moved to tears.
This show was wonderful and so moving. Every artist especially the main singer, was inspiring. She put her heart and soul into each song which moved me to tears! Please bring them back again. ❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely stunning! The artists are top class and music that you cannot forget. I would love to take more people to see it.
Absolutely fantastic 👏 luved every minute. Thank u
Artists, light and sound were great. I made a video of the show (for my consumption only - I never publish on e.g. YouTube. (If the artist is interested, email me [reverethomson@gmail.com] and I will send a her a DropBox link (4K video, 30 min long, 1.5Gig MP4 file.)
A great concept, presented with warmth but not too much professionalism. The pianist should have known where to find the score for the various songs. The violist was excellent. The winner is still the Judy Garland performer.
I loved the intimacy of the theatre. It was a great evening. Thanks!
Excellent show. Your sound engineers need some discipline. We were sitting in the last row. They often disturbed us with unnecessary noise.
Really enjoyed the show but found the sound over amplified and hence distorted . We mentioned it after speaking to many people at interval who agreed so we requested that it be lowered .....the second half of the show was delightful, and I am so sorry that we suffered through the first half .
I enjoyed it very much and the violinist was amazing. The sound through the microphone of the vocalist was a bit too deafening. Not sure if that was a fault of the acoustics. Otherwise a most enjoyable show.
4 we liked her singing but if she sings very loudly than the acoustic fails . Otherwise we enjoyed the evening.
It was absolutely brilliant, could have spent more time listening to that wonder voice and music. To hear the story of Edith made it so much more pleasurable. I new a little of her life but this was so, so interesting! Thanks so much for a great evening :-)
Keep it up!
Loved every minute of it!!
Singer and the two musicians were exceptional. The show highlighted the pathos but also the great passion which was Edith Piaf.
One of the best shows I have seen
Fantastic show, one of the best - all artist exceptional
Fantastic!!
I was disappointed that the songs were in english, not french. Those of us who know Piaf's songs know them in french. After the show I heard 2 others saying the same thing. On the other hand my wife, who is english, said she was glad otherwise she would not have understood. In any case it would have helped if she had given the french name for each song to help us.
The sound still needs improvement. Distorted in the beginning.
Mind blowing - words cannot describe her performance. Absolutely magnificent!!!!
we loved the show.
Excellent. Keep on getting good shows.
Excellent! Enjoyed every moment. Impressed with the quality presented. Well done and thank you.
It was truly a wonderful show with marvellous artists. Each one of them brilliant. It made for a fantastic evening . Thank you - I hope you have more in this genre.
Liked the brief life story of Edith, would have preferred the songs in French and more of a French feel
The 3 perfomers were magnificent!
This is a show not to be missed. Frankie captured, to perfection, the pathos and the longing that Edith projected through her music. The accompanists, Thinus and Wilken, were absolutely fabulous and added so much to a magical performance. Both are masters of their instruments. Thank you for a simply wonderful evening.
